Mail Art, 2010 - present
A series of postcards delivered to 40 individuals as part of Nine Fake Cakes and Nine Bodies of Water was my first foray into Mail Art in 2010. A year later, I joined the Postcard Collective and have created new pieces ever since. I sporadically make cards in conjunction with specific projects, one of which was exhibited at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in There Is No Point South of the South Pole. I use Mail Art to test ideas and many included here are the origin of a new body of work. They allow me to express my interests in other mediums (text, social media, performance, mapmaking). They are an ideal format for storytelling, whether or not they turn into a larger concept.
