Lost Photographs, 2002 - 2005
We crossed Lake Te Anua by catamaran then we bounced along in a bus until reaching Doubtful Sound. Before departing for the Tasman Sea, through the eerie silence between the starting of the engine and shifting away from the dock, a boat full of dead deer carcasses drifted past us. Everything moved in slow motion as we stared at the lifeless creatures from high above. In order to experience beauty and inner peace in its purest form, death was there to take a piece of it away. Sometimes I can still hear that silence ringing in my ears.
